spectrUM Discovery Center

Cow eye dissectionspectrUM Discovery Area was conceived and developed in the NSF EPSCoR 2004-2007 award and is now permanently located in the Skaggs Building on The University of Montana campus.  The space was gifted by the College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences, which opened spring 2007. While working to secure funding outside of EPSCoR, in the 2007-10 proposal, MT NSF EPSCoR will provide support for spectrUM's development and dissemination of materials and programs as a means to increase public understanding of science.

spectrUM Discovery Area provides a rich culture of learning through innovative environments, interpretive information technologies, defined programs, presentation and self-navigation tools that enable children and adults to advance their curiosity about science and the world around them. It's a brand new place to see, smell, hear, feel -- even taste -- science.

spectrUM has public hours on Thursday (3:30 PM - 7:00 PM), Saturday (11:00 AM - 4:30 PM) and Sunday (11:00 AM - 4:30 PM).  For all other events (camps, workshops, birthday parties, and more) visit their website for details: www.umt.edu/spectrum or phone 406-243-4828.
