GRAND OPENING
Sunday, October 7, 2007
from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The University of Montana is excited to announce the grand opening of its new interactive science museum located on campus in the Skaggs Building
Entertainment – Food – Fun for the entire Family – Hands-on Exhibits – Microscope Corner – Discover Bench – Traveling exhibition “Making Meaning” from the San Francisco Exploratorium
spectrUM Discovery Area will be home to exhibits, activities and demonstrations on site as well as outreach programs that bring hands-on science to Montana communities and classrooms.
Long before opening our doors, we were busy! Since 2006, we have been:
- Providing hands-on science workshops to over 800 Montana children
- Establishing an exhibit sharing network, which currently is traveling two world-class exhibit sets from the San Francisco Exploratorium across Montana
- Touring our celebrated Science Learning Tent to Montana festivals, fairs, and powwows, with over an estimated 27,000 annual visitors
The mission is to inspire a culture of learning and discovery through experiences, programs, educators and technologies that help all Montanans advance their curiosity about science, health and the world around them.
This project is powered by Montana NSF EPSCoR.
